Island Anchor helps local businesses publish hours and events, including SMS-based updates from approved phone numbers.

- Business profile details you submit (name, address, category, and hours/events data).
- Phone numbers designated as approved business updaters.
- SMS message metadata and content (sender number, message body, timestamps, responses).
How We Use Information
- To authenticate approved updater numbers.
- To process and confirm requested business profile changes.
- To maintain an operational log of inbound SMS activity.
- To prevent unauthorized updates and abuse.
SMS Consent and Opt-In
Users opt in by texting START (or another approved opt-in keyword) to the
Island Anchor messaging number, or by directly initiating an SMS conversation to request
business profile updates. Message frequency varies based on user actions and update
requests. Message and data rates may apply.
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchase. To stop messages, reply
STOP. For assistance, reply HELP.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate this service (for example, SMS delivery providers and hosting/network services). SMS opt-in consent and mobile phone number data is not shared, sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for marketing, promotional, lead-generation, or third-party analytics purposes.
Data Retention
We retain operational records for as long as needed to provide the service, troubleshoot issues, and meet legal or compliance obligations.
